Black Earth Strings will be playing 24 performances at all the elementary schools in Evanston from Nov 5 to Nov 16. The Evanston In-School Music Association (EISMA), a not-for-profit community organization, is dedicated to presenting professional music programs that bring the joy and appreciation of music to elementary and middle school students in Evanston/Skokie School District 65 in Illinois. Black Earth Strings will expose students to the wide range of music that can be performed with string instruments. Black Earth Strings features award-winning composer, flutist and vocalist Nicole Mitchell, violinist/violist Renee Baker, cellist Tomeka Reid and bassist Josh Abrams.
